With 2016 coming to a close, it’s time to start thinking about the hottest video games that are set to launch in 2017. It’s not 100% that the games will be released then, but here are some of the top games that will tentatively be available in 2017.
- Star Trek Bridge Crew
Release date: March 14
This game was scheduled to launch in November 2016. The 4-player VR title is a chance to play the Kobayashi Maru simulation. In the game, you have different roles on the bridge of the starship Enterprise. The game seems to be an outstanding one that will please Trekkies.
- Halo Wars 2
Release date: February 21, 2017
“Halo Wars 2” will be rolled out to Xbox One and PC. Although the game’s series isn’t quite as exciting as the original Halo game, the spin-off games offer something different. It’s also one of the few RTS titles available on consoles. This sequel includes tons of actions. There are also multiplayer modes for a maximum of 6 players. “Halo Wars 2” also features a new enemy type that players can battle: the Banished.
The game occurs on a Forerunner installation that produced the Halo rings. So the game will be including amazing lore.
- Sniper Elite 4
Release date: February
‘Sniper Elite 4” will be available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This shooter includes some big open-world levels that make the game even better. The sniper Karl Fairburne is fighting his way through World War 2. In the game, the protagonist has made it to Italy where Germany’s Nazis are guests in the country. Karl is part of the resistance.
- For Honor
Release date: February 24
If you’re a fan of melee combat, then you’ll likely want to consider playing “For Honor.” The 4v4 multiplayer game includes a variety of characters including Knits, Vikings, and Samurai. They all fight against each other on wild battlefields.
The combat for “For Honor” seems to be quite amazing. Each hit or block is powerful. Not only that, but they’re unique to the 4 roles in each of the factions. This will certainly be one of the most thrilling games of next year.
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Release date: January 24.
This game will launch on various platforms including PS4, Xbox One, PC, and PSVR. One of the key features of the game is that it will return the franchise’s focus on action and suspense.
The RE7 demo has been quite terrifying, so it looks like the franchise will be back on track. Another plus of the game is that it can be played in virtual reality, which shows the impact of VR on today’s games.
- Tekken 7
Release date: Early 2017
Interestingly “Tekken 7” has been shipping to Japanese arcades for almost two years, since 2015. It looks like the wait will be worthwhile.
The 3D fighting game brings back fighters from the King of Iron First tourney as well as some new fighters. The game will include many heavy animations, powerful combos, and interesting backdrops.
